Soldier injured in Samaria

Oct 3, 2022, Samaria:  The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is stretched to the limit during this Fall Festival season of 2022.   20 minutes uphill from here in Samaria, Nablus is a Roman-era name (in Greek) for Shechem, an ancient Hebrew town.  This is the location where Joseph’s bones are buried; yes, that Joseph, Pharaoh’s right-hand man in Egypt.

On 2 October 2022 in Shechem, Israeli Jews had a peaceful rally.  They came under fire from Arab non-Israelis from the area. The overall council head of Samaria, Yossi Dagan, was photographed crouching behind an automobile for cover, pistol drawn, defending children.  This was a peaceful rally with many children present – Arabs opened fire for no reason other than their hurt feelings that Jews simply exist in Samaria.

Dangerous Fall Holiday Season

11 Oct 2022: It’s the season of the Fall Feasts of the seventh Biblical month (the first month being the month where Passover lands, in the spring).  The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has been working overtime, calling up reserves for weeks, to counteract the Arabs’ stepped-up efforts to cause panic and mayhem among the Jewish population.

An 18-year old girl, Sgt. Noa Lazar, was killed in an antisemitic attack.  Thus, the IDF’s “Operation Break the Wave” continues work in order to break the wave of violence and antisemitism.

Remembering Sgt Liel Gideoni (1994-2014)

30 Sept 2022, Samaria:  You probably know that I go out prayer walking around the village every day.

This morning, I saw a bumper sticker that stood out to me.  What a smile!

This guy is special, and deeply missed by his family. Liel was just 20 years old at the time.

The morning of Aug 1, 2014, around 7 or 9:30 AM, terrorists from Gaza suddenly emerged from a terror tunnel dug by Hamas, with materials financed by Iran.  It was an ambush against the Israeli soldiers, less than 72 hours after the US and the UN had brokered a cease-fire.

 

An example of bumper stickers in Israel. This one is a memory of the late Sgt Liel Gideoni, from Jerusalem, who served in the Givati Brigade of the IDF; Gidoni was killed on Aug 1, 2014 in an ambush in southern Gaza shortly after the “cease fire” was announced.

With English letters, Liel’s surname is sometimes spelled with or without the “e.”

Liel Gideoni was posthumously promoted to Sergeant.

Highway Sinkhole on Shabbat

18 Sept 2022: Sinkhole opened up in one lane of the Ayalon Highway on Shabbat, the 17th of September.  While religious Jews generally do not drive on Shabbat, secular Jews, Muslims, and Christians who do not observe Shabbat use cars as they wish. This sinkhole in a Tel Aviv highway suddenly appeared during Shabbat; thankfully, no cars fell in.  Generally, each town and city passes zoning laws which determine how many shops (if any) or restaurants are permitted to open on Shabbat; there is some variety place to place because of the different religious views which people hold.

IDF Commander in Samaria killed in clashes with Arabs

15 Sept 2022, Samaria:  Last night in Samaria, there were clashes between Arabs and the Israel Defense Forces.  An Israeli commander fell in the battle.  Rough translation of the front page:  “The heavy price of the war on terror: vigilance in the Jewish state after the fall of the late Major Bar Falah in an encounter in Samaria– The IDF on high alert.”

Germany apologizes for its part in 1972 Olympics disaster

6 Sept, 2022:  Germany apologized for failing to keep the Arab killers away from the Jewish athletes; while the leader of the Palestinian Authority government utterly failed to apologize for these murders committed by people from his movement.

Arabs Shoot Jewish Bus Driver In Face; Passenger Takes Over, Steers Bus to Stop

4 Sept 2022:  The three suspects, members of the same family from the northern Samaria PA-governed city of Jenin, drove a truck with Israeli license plates, and staged a moving attack on the loaded passenger bus traveling on the highway.

The driver holds Israeli citizenship (rather than Palestinian Authority) which might explain why the attack car has Israeli plates.  The driver is father of one of the other two militants.

The investigation is ongoing.

Two of the militants were captured by the IDF, while a third had escaped.

“The shooting on Sunday was the 11th attack in the past month… [and] the sixth terrorist attack in less than one week.”

Stabbing Attack Against Israelis

2 Sept, 2022: “An IDF soldier was moderately injured in a stabbing attack near Kiryat Arba on Friday afternoon, according to the IDF Spokesperson Unit.

“The terrorist approached an IDF military post and stabbed one of the soldiers that was standing guard.”

African Cockroaches in Israel

23 Aug 2022: A Health and Wellness story:  Not only is Israel a part of the Middle East, it also borders Africa, along with everything: the flora and fauna, the crops, nations and people who are under economic oppression.

This creepy-crawly story is about the bugs.  And not just any old bedbugs or fleas.  When I lived in the Back Bay area of Boston, or in Los Angeles, both of these locations had cockroach issues.  The ones in the Back Bay were much smaller, and with the cold climate much of the year, not so prevalent.  Yet, there was a greater problem there since that part of the city was built upon filled marshland and the shallow bay.  In other parts of the city, and in other parts of the state, the roaches were not a problem.  In Hollywood and North Hollywood, the bugs were bigger and more numerous, with the warmer desert-style climate and year-round heat.  In such a place as that, with infestations “built in” to most apartment buildings, one learns quickly to never leave a dirty dish in the sink.  Ever.  It will become bait in no time.

But those were nothing compared to the African Cockroach which can also fly, in addition to being huge.

Update 25 Aug 2022:  This evening one of these roaches flew into the kitchen; landed on the floor; gained altitude again, and flew over my head towards the wall and crawled into hiding somewhere.  Mind you, all the windows and doors were closed or with bugscreens.  That one somehow managed to sneak through the cracks in the frame.

In all my time in Boston and Hollywood, I never heard of stories such as this.  Then again, maybe it’s because I had no newspaper subscription in those days.

I encourage everyone to be prayerful and circumspect about how information and news is acquired.  If one tries to avoid it completely, chances are, the messages from the MSM will creep into the ears, like bugs, because those messages are flying around everywhere: the curated search results from web search sites, the background noise at the market or cafe, the radios, the tv sound, and the comments and opinions from all the people who are exposed to those noises.

It takes prayer and focus to actively search out news and commentary that is written with a level of honesty and a level of agreement with your own world view.  Clearly, the banksters have quite their own world view, and they are delighted with their ability to try to force it upon all others.
