The plumber, Yaniv Hayoun, actually has the job of driving a huge sewage vacuum truck, the kind that is used to remove huge quantities of sewage. Hilarious that the next day at work, his truck wouldn’t start:
Credit to heroes aboard the flight: Captain Smit Machchhar (arm was almost severed by the axe, yet he opened the cockpit door), Tzvika Manes (banker and CEO of Bank Leumi’s underwriter company who attacked the terrorist and helped tie him with passenger’s headset wires), Yaniv Hayoun (the “plumber,”but really, sewage vacuum truck driver who had watched “Air Crash Investigation” on TV where he learned to pull up on the yoke), Dr. Shota Mosayev (the dentist who stopped Smit’s bleeding), Asaf Majuan (insurance agency owner who helped keep the terrorist bound for 55 minutes), and Tzvika’s wife Tali Manes (the first to raise the alarm when she heard suspicious noises from the cockpit), but discredit to the government officials who failed in their jobs. Interrogators now know that the jihadist copilot intended to quietly disable or kill Captain Smit, and then crash the plane into Ben Gurion airport. He ask Captain Smit for time to pray, which he did for 5 minutes, which ended when he struck Captain Smit on the back of his head with the emergency axe stored in the cockpit.³
