The jury consisted of eleven white people split against one black man who would not let go of Lindsay Clancy’s premeditation (thus, clarity of thought, i.e. sanity) in murdering her three children. The eleven bullied him and recruited Clancy’s defense lawyer to lambast him in public, and still he would not relent. Partially because a black parent would never be granted the same empathy if they had killed their children:
