Swiss parliament rejects use of emergency law to save bank

13 April 2023: The financial world was in shock this February, when the Swiss government used an emergency provision over the weekend to push a bank rescue for Credit Suisse, which fell in connection with other bank failings such as USA’s Silicon Valley Bank (SVB). The Swiss gov’t plan was accepted by the higher house but rejected by the lower, larger body of its parliament.

Hansjoerg Knecht, upper house parliament member, said, ” The use of emergency law has reached a level in the last three years that is beginning to annoy me.”

Pray that parliament members and bank leaders will have wisdom to follow after righteousness.
