In June 2025, in a 12-day battle with Iran, Israel took severe action against the Ayatollah and his unprovoked attacks against the Jews, both directly in the historic first ever military attack via missiles from Iran to the Land of Israel earlier in 2024-25, but also through proxies against Israel which was ongoing since 1989.
Israel finally had a cooperation between a good plan, adequate resources and readiness, great timing, AND an empathetic White House.
Defense Minister Katz has said that the joint USA-Israel operation against Iran this morning is to remove threats against the State of Israel.
In this past week’s negotiations with Iran, the USA had demanded a comprehensive nuclear plan from Iran to describe actual steps they would take to reach zero uranium enrichment.
The USA said that it was disappointed with Iran’s offer.
USA has its on survival at stake here. Israel also. The two partnered closely in Operation Epic Fury.
8:30 am: 🚀 I get it now. That 8:14 am air raid siren was to announce to Israel that Israel has started a preemptive attack against Iran. Highest alert now. All gatherings are prohibited. Everyone must stay close to bomb shelters. All education and community gatherings are stopped. Everyone must return back home from synagogues etc. I hear neighbors outside shouting around asking where the children are. All civilian flights cancelled.
Israel’s Finance Minister, Betzalel Smotrich (Likud) made an executive order to raise the value taxation threshold from $75 to $150 for private individual consumers, as a measure to provide some relief to high consumer costs. It was effective around Dec 25, 2025.
Early this morning, 24 Feb 2026, the Knesset – led by Netanyahu and the rest of the Likud party – voted to strike down the sales tax relief to consumers,
Smotrich vows to try again.
In Israeli shops, when they import goods they pay 18% tax and then pass that on to their customers.
For many years consumers could receive up to $75 USD in goods value per order from overseas as a relief to high costs. Smotrich tried to raise that threshold to $150 in value (does not include shipping costs).
The shopkeepers protested against the raise. But like I said at the start – they can always gain back their customers by providing friendly face to face excellent service, without shipping charge.

The Knesset revoked the measure that increased the VAT exemption on personal imports from $75 to $150, reverting it back to the previous limit of $75.
This decision was made by a vote of 59 to 25 on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, and the change is effective immediately upon the vote, meaning the $75 exemption limit is now back in force.
