Blogs like Times of Israel count today (Jan 1) as Day 87 because of up-to-the-hour reporting, while Jerusalem Post calls it the 86th day of war because they close for “press time” the day before the paper is delivered. To add to the complexity, the Jewish Calendar is loosely based upon the Biblical Calendar; and neither has any January 1 at all, as the new year is the First of Aviv in the springtime, and the harvest year is at the start of the 7th month, which is in the autumn (Leviticus 23, Deuteronomy 16).

29 Dec 2023, Samaria:  But one thing Hamas wants to make clear: Iran and Hezbollah better not claim, ever, that they told Hamas what to do and when to do that massacre.  Hamas wants ALL the credit for its war crimes.  It also wants rulership over the unified “palestinian state” which is proposed by the USA.

Believers among the nations: Pray that no “two state solution” is devised. Despite all fantasies in the West, Arabs would never use it for humanitarian purposes.  It is a “divide and conquer” plan to erase the Jewish state.

Regarding that paragraph in my red box; It’s important to remember that in open and democratic societies, our enemies have easy access to everything the society does in public. All of the discussions and protests are under the watchful eyes of the enemies.

28 Dec 2023, Samaria: Taking a moment to debunk blatant lies about Israel:

1) “From the river to the sea” is a slogan repeated in the streets around the world; it does not mean liberation, nor a two-state solution; it is a rallying cry for genocide of Jewish Israel.

2) “Intifada” is an uprising against Jewish rule, not legitimate resistance nor peaceful resistance; it is somewhere between protest and revolution.  The lie here is that Israel has not occupied nor ruled Gaza since 2005.

3) Israel’s Jews are mostly people of color from the Middle East and North Africa, and not colonists by any definition.

4) If Israel were committing genocide, how then has the Palestinian population gone 5x since 1960? It is Hamas that is genocidal. 1

And to address one little lie regarding Arabs in Judea and Samaria:  No, actually, there are zero “lone wolf” Jews attacking Arabs unprovoked, in Judea and Samaria (west bank) or anywhere else:

So that’s a brief summary of some of the responses to five often repeated lies about Israel regarding its conflict with Gaza as well as the Arabs living in Judea and Samaria.

27 Dec 2023, Samaria:  Firing from Lebanon, Hezbollah forces fired at the St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Northern Israel, wounding an 80 year old man, who we would presume to be an Israeli Christian.

When Jewish soldiers from the Israel Defense Force showed up to rescue the man, Hezbollah fired again, moderately injuring 8 while seriously injuring 1 soldier.

Like Hamas, Hezbollah does not care about the international laws of war.

27 Dec, 2023, Samaria:  They also lied and said his mother was a captive when in reality, her kidnappers had failed to take her.  They captured the boy Eitan and his father, Ohad,  separately.  Bat-Sheva his mother along with his two little sisters escaped while on the way into Gaza, when their kidnappers were confronted by an Israeli tank. Ohad, their father and husband, is still in captivity, condition unknown.

When Eitan and his kidnappers arrived in Gaza, the “peaceful civilians of Gaza” beat him in the street.

“That was a frightening experience,” he said.

“Eitan Yahalomi was also told his mother was abducted, and only found out she had evaded capture when he himself was set free.”

Eitan is now in a new and unfamiliar town, and getting into school once again, but with a completely different group of kids.

26 Dec 2023, Samaria:  The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has ramped up attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon, seemingly pushing them further away from the border.  Hard to tell what’s really happening there.

More prayer is needed for these situations.

26 Dec 2023, Samaria: Residents have said they heard explosions and sounds of digging under their homes, but the Regional Council says–with little investigation–that it has found no evidence.

Proper investigation will be required.

Yet, I think this is true. Why? Because I trust the people who heard the noises under their homes more than the local council officials who probably showed up for 5 minutes out of their busy day and said, “I don’t hear any noises!”

The truth won’t be known until there’s a proper investigation. Until then, I personally believe the homeowners.
