Hamas has already backed out of the hostage deal prior to today’s 11 AM signing of the agreement.
(1) Hamas has fired new missiles at Jews last night and this morning, and
(2) Hamas added a new last-minute “requirement” to name their prisoners returned by Israel.
Context: prisoners in Israel’s prisons have been tried and convicted in a legal court of law; hostages in Gaza have had no due process, no court hearing, they were guilty of no crime except continuing to exist.

Rocket on the Roof story:  Early Tues morning around 3:05 AM, the IDF intercepted a missile heading into Israel from Yemen.  Millions of Israelis, myself included, heard the air raid sirens locally and hopped out of bed to run to the bomb shelter.  Eleven Israelis were injured while running, one died of heart attack.   Next morning, this couple discovered that the shrapnel from the missile had landed directly on their home. In fact, the reason it did not penetrate further into the house is because once thru the roof, it landed directly on the bomb shelter (“safe room”) inside Zvika’s home.

Here’s the kicker: They only noticed hours later during their morning walk.

Zvika Wexler, standing in front of his home, wearing a Yankees cap, Houthi missile on his roof didn’t fall all the way thru into the house at 3:05 am because it was stopped by the saferoom bomb shelter inside the home. They were inside that bomb shelter but didn’t notice the rocket on the roof until taking their morning walk several hours later.

I recorded the time as 3:05 am when the cats let me know they heard the air raid sirens in towns several miles away. So the three of us headed into the bomb shelter until the alarms stopped.

I heard no explosion, so I didn’t wait the additional 10 minutes but came out of the shelter and went back to bed. This morning I see in the news that the IDF is not sure what really happened to that missile, but no impacts were reported. However there were panic attacks and 11 people were injured while running to their shelters.

Previously, there was a Houthi missile in the evening at 6:30 pm which was definitely intercepted. The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen however reported it falsely as having struck its target in Israel.

I’m so thankful that my cats have learned that the air raid siren means snack time inside the bomb shelter.

Major attack against Jews in Samaria was thwarted at the last minute this Shabbat:

The Palestinian Authority (PA) is behind on its electricity bills for electricity it acquires from the Israel Electric company.  The PA is the Arab government in charge of the Arab cities in Judea and Samaria:

Arab Israelis have representatives in the Congress, the Knesset of Israel (the Parliament).  Realizing that the current government could disintegrate if Netanyahu approves a hostage return deal, the Arab party has volunteered to join the coalition in case of such emergency, to keep the coalition above the needed 50% mark (61 seats out of 120 are needed), otherwise, elections are required.

It does not look that way. Netanyahu and his team of negotiators have not changed their terms, despite the lies Hamas has told the media.

• Hamas increased their terms
• Hamas holds hostages and refuses to provide a list or any proof of life.
• These are not strategies used when a party wishes to reach an agreement for peace.

The other side would argue that it’s Netanyahu that lies to prolong the war. Well even if that were true, this public statement still serves to encourage Hamas to come and negotiate better. So the end result would be better in either case if Hamas changes their strategy and actually wishes to end the conflict.

This Shabbat, Israel intercepted one missile from Yemen headed for Jerusalem at 2 am, and then an unusual long-range missile from Gaza at 4 pm headed for Jerusalem.

It’s been awhile since Gaza fired much, and even more since they used one of their precious and rare long-range missiles.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad had stolen police vehicles from the Palestinian Authority.  For the past 8 days, ever since the Assad regime fell in Syria, the PA has taken up the fight against Hamas and IJ:

Remember when naysayers used to say “Why is the IDF conducting operations in Arab towns in Judea and Samaria?! Hamas is in Gaza, not there!”

Really?

Those with a clue already knew that Hamas operates in Judea, Samaria (West Bank), Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq…
