The ceasefire explained

Nov 12, 2023, Samaria: The below would be more accurately titled, “The ceasefire explained,” but for now I’ll leave it just as I found it:

Even Israeli schools have pro-Hamas students and staff

7 Nov 2023, Samaria: It’s not just a Western thing when college students protest silly things. In this case, the students may be Arab Israelis, but not necessarily.

In the Middle East, Arabs may be grouped into four categories:

1. Arabs of the nations other than Israel, such as Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, the UAE, and many others.

2. Arab Israelis who vote in Israeli elections, pay Israeli taxes, receive Israeli benefits, and have representatives in all levels of society including the Knesset (parliament) and the High Court.

3. Arab Palestinians who live in Israel but are governed by the PA (the PLO, aka Palestinian Authority), living in the disputed territories.

4. Arab Palestinians whose government had a bloody coup against the PA and established their Hamas government instead. These are in Gaza, a part of Egypt up until 1967, but now an enclave within Israel. Israel ended the occupation in 2005.

To be pro-Hamas in 2023 is not like being pro-Hitler in 1938; it’s akin being pro-Hitler in 1951 or 1971, long after the proof of the atrocities he committed is very well-known.  Even in 1988 the founding charter of Hamas had been published, stating its mission: genocide all the Jews.

Obviously, neither Israel nor Jews practice genocide; otherwise, the population of Gaza would not have grown from 1.4 million in 2005 up to 2.3 million in 2023.  The PA Arabs in the disputed territory and the Arab Israelis also have normal population growth.

Hopefully, this background explanation will help make sense of articles like this one at the top, and oppose the lies. In reality, Israel has no apartheid; it is inclusive of all races. While many of the PA Arabs were offered Israeli citizenship yet refused, in reality, Arab Israelis are found in every level of Israeli society.

Rockets launchers in the playground

6 Nov 2023, Samaria:  Israeli soldiers in Gaza have identified hidden missile launchers in children’s playgrounds, near swimming pools, and civilian housing. Hamas does this, knowing that when Israel finds where missiles are located, they prefer to destroy them beforehand or, at least hit the launch site after launch to prevent further attacks.

Israel uses weapons to protect its civilians, but Gazans use civilians to protect their weapons.

Rulers of Gaza put their own civilians in harms’ way just to make Israel look bad.  If Hamas had their way, all these bombed-out war zones would be full of Gazan civilians.  Hamas and Islamic Jihad cynically abuse their Arab brothers, and abuse the international laws, to convert civilian structures into military usage.  That in itself is a war crime.  IDF makes every effort to lead Gazan civilians to safety – even taking fire from Hamas as Hamas tries to prevent the IDF from doing this rescue work.

Pray for Judea, Samaria, and for all Jews worldwide.

Pray the nations will have wisdom to discern truth and see clearly.

Practical tips for clear thinking and mental health

I was studying this article a while back, and I thought my readers may enjoy it as well. I think you’ll like #4:

1. Memorize the following sentence: “What is a different way of looking at my situation?” Ask yourself this question every time you start to feel overwhelmed.  Getting out of habitual patterns of over-reacting to stress and uncertainty is key for regarding yourself as a capable problem-solver.

2. Walk your dog for 30-minutes daily, or go for a hike. Movement is a wonderful metaphor for getting unstuck. Not only are you getting out of your home, but you’re getting out of your head. Especially if you have a wily breed like a Siberian Husky to keep you on your toes.

3. Drink a lot of water. Staying hydrated is a simple way to improve mental health. Studies show water facilitates the delivery of nutrients to the brain, removes toxins and inflammatory markers, and improves brain function.

4. Drop and do 10 pushups when your heart starts racing because your boss just bombed your inbox with unreasonable requests. Short bursts of heightened physical activity help you get rid of excess nervous energy.

5. Silently repeat, “I’m not the cause and I’m not the cure” whenever someone around you is being unreasonable. Many anxious souls are overly responsible for others’ feelings. If Bob in Accounting goes on a rant because the numbers aren’t adding up, that’s his problem. Don’t make it yours.

6. Fall in love with emotional regulation. Successful people are self-aware people. They also know how to reign in their emotions and maintain composure while warding off impulsivity during trying times.

7. Think of a person you admire who sees a glass as half full. When you’re stumped about a problem ask yourself what this person would do. Anxiety can cause you to feel alone and isolated, even when you’re around others. When you aren’t getting the feel-good vibes of those in your purview, think of your admired person for inspiration.

8. Practice the Pomodoro Technique when you’re demotivated and stressed about looming work or school deadlines. There are various iterations, but the classic version is to set a timer and work for 25 minutes, followed by a 5-minute break. Repeat this cycle three or four times, and then take a 15-20 minute break. This method is especially helpful when you’re daunted by a huge project. Working in small batches of time is a wonderful productivity hack.

9. Leave work on time. Unless your job involves researching a cure for cancer or other terminal illness, let it go. A healthy boundary means respecting your obligations just as much as your “me time.”

10. Choose a mindfulness activity to ease yourself into transitions. For example, let’s say you have a hard time leaving work stress behind, and you emotionally vomit on your spouse upon arriving home. Before walking through the front door, spend a few minutes in silence to make peace with what’s happened during the day. Take a few cleansing breaths and open the door with presence and intention.

Hamas uses ambulances to carry active warriors to battle

5 Nov 2023, Samaria:  This is a war crime.  We also know that Hamas hides material for terror tunnels inside truckloads of cookies and other humanitarian aid – another war crime. This is why Israel is cautious about humanitarian aid, and insists on the right to inspect each of the 100+ trucks now entering Gaza daily through Egypt.

Below: Gilad Erdan, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nothing, explains what Israel has known for a long time:
